Adding Joy to Your Life

Leslie, Tiff, Jodi and JeanWe are on this earth to experience joy and unfortunately, most of us are not able to do this on a daily basis.  We have busy schedules, people to meet, chores to do and the list goes on and on.  The list of diseases we experience keeps growing.  Ask any physician about what is causing so much disease in the world and they will tell you that it is STRESS!

Just imagine your life with more joy.  Imagine waking up each day with a smile on your face and joy in your heart.  Imagine that you are looking forward to the day.  Imagine getting yourself to a place where there are no “have to’s,” no “should haves” and no “I wish I would have”.  Can you imagine that?

So what is joy?  Joy is an abiding sense of happiness! People who experience joy may have moments or times of sadness but they live life knowing that the darkness in their lives will pass and the sunshine will return.  Joyful people are happy people.  They smile a lot.  Joyful people look at problems as opportunities; they see the glass as half full.  Joyful people are grateful for what they have; they even practice gratitude.

When sad things happen to joyful people, they look for the lesson.  They do not cry, “why me?”  Instead they look at every situation as a learning experience and they always discover the lesson in each event.  They also focus on others.  Even when you are in a bad situation, many others have it worse.  When you place your focus on others, you realize how good your life is right now, even in the middle of a bad situation.

Joyful people are not happy all the time.  Let’s face it; no one can be happy all the time.  But they have a sense of wonder about the world that brings them through every event, whether the event is sad or happy.

Once you find the joy in life, you will have time to get everything done!  Once you find the joy in life, your stress will go away.  Once you find the joy in life, you will find yourself smiling for no reason!   Once you find the joy in life, your relationships will improve.  Read my book, “Finding Joy” to learn how to increase the joy in your life
