Building a Strong Immune System

Building a Strong Immune SystemLet’s take a look at the steps to build a strong immune system.

Water is the first on the list.  Your body is 70% water, without water your cells do not communicate the healing messages necessary for good health.  Water boosts the immune system; helps maintain energy, while dehydration promotes cancer cell growth.  So drink water at every meal, throughout the day and have a glass by your bedside at night so when you wake up you can have a drink.  Avoid caffeinated drinks and alcohol as they dehydrate you.

Eat whole foods.  Consume foods that are found in nature and eat them in a form as close to nature as possible. And in this day and age it is necessary to say eat organic whenever possible. Whole foods have many hidden benefits that will boost the immune system. The combination of vitamins and minerals etc. is perfect for our bodies.  Separating out a vitamin from the food eliminates the synergy of these vitamins and minerals.

Enjoy lots of raw produce. There have been more than 200 plus human-population studies that show that consuming raw vegetables is the strongest protection against cancer cells of any other beneficial food.  Raw food is high in enzyme levels which help the body deal with bad bacteria and cancer cells.  Aim for a diet that is 80-90% raw to really boost the immune system.

Eat your greens.  Greens are loaded with antioxidants, natural minerals, and chlorophyll. Study after study shows the value of eating greens to improve the immune system.  Greens will also bring the body to an alkaline pH level and disease does not live in an alkaline environment.  Good options for greens include kale, Swiss chard, spinach, parsley, and romaine lettuce.

Add lots of carotene-rich produce to your diet.    These foods contain Vitamin A which is important in strengthening the immune system. Carotenes have a number of immune-enhancing effects on the body (even before it’s turned into vitamin A in the body) by significantly increasing the frequency of helper T-cells which attack and reject cancer cells from the body.

Eat lots of apples and cilantro which are both have special properties that assist the body in removing heavy metals.  These heavy metals negatively impact the immune system.

Whenever possible add juicing to your diet.  Juicing vegetables and fruits turns them into the most bio-available and concentrated whole food source nutrient which will give you the best immune system boost.  For example, if you eat a carrot it will contribute about 30% of the nutrients to the cellular level but when it is juiced it will contribute 90% of nutrients to the cell.

An avid runner, she is passionate about exercise, eating healthy and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.Jean was diagnosed with cancer in May, 2009 this only served to fuel the flames of her passions and encouraged her to learn more about wellness. This diagnosis actually led to the beginning of World Wellness Education with a mission of “Teaching the world about wellness — one story at a time.”

As Jean pursued alternative methods of treating cancer she met countless individuals who had great stories to tell regarding how nutrition, spirituality and exercise helped them to overcome their various illnesses. Since these stories were moving, motivating and timely she thought that each of these stories may make a difference in others lives. With the knowledge that we learn from stories more quickly than other teaching methods an organization was born in hopes to make a difference in the well being of every individual on the planet.
