Lyme Disease

Lyme disease is the most common vector borne disease in America today with over 35,000 new cases reported each year. However, because it easily overlooked the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention estimate that the actual number of new Lyme disease cases could be over 400,000 per year. This infectious disease has debilitated many entire neighborhoods and families.

Lyme disease gets into every organ and tissue of the body including the brain. As it moves from organ to organ, it can cause many different symptoms. This makes it difficult to diagnose. Since the symptoms vary from week to week depending on where the virus is in the body many patients are told that it is all in their head. That what they have is psychosomatic.

Our guest today is Michelle Violette.  It took Michelle nearly twenty years of going to doctor to doctor before she received a diagnosis of Lyme Disease. Michelle  is here to share with us her journey on how she overcame this debilitating disease.
