Let’s face it the same old exercise routines can become boring and stale. When this happens it is easy to find excuses to not exercise at all. However, when you are having fun you will look forward to it and add more of it in your daily routine. When this happens it is easy to improve your physical health.

6 Fun Ways to Exercise

Dancing– Turning up the music and dancing around the house is great for your well-being. You can do this as you pick things up that the grandkids left out or for no reason at all. Dancing will not only burn a lot of calories and make you sweat it will also bring a smile to your face as you listen to music you enjoy.

Hula Hooping–  This is a fun way to burn lots of calories while bringing back memories of when you were a kid. Use a 1.5 pound hula hoop to improve flexibility and balance while toning your legs, back, abs and arms.

Playing with your Grandkids– Have fun teaching your grandkids the games you used to play when you were young like kick the can, hop scotch, or duck duck goose. Not only will all of you move your muscles but you will laugh and create memories that you and your grandchildren will cherish forever.

Wii  Fit– Using gaming consoles is a great way to change your workout routine and have the time fly by.  There are many games to choose from for weight loss, strengthening, stretching, balance and cardio. Boxing is a fun virtual game that will have you moving in all directions and exercising multiple muscle groups.

Fetch with Man’s Best Friend– Taking your dog for a walk is good but add some fun for both of you by tossing a ball, stick or Frisbee the next time you are out. If your dog is like mine you might even get more exercise since it seems that he enjoy it more when I am the one playing fetch.

Golfing– Riding around in your golf cart won’t burn a lot of calories. However, that will change if you are on a golf course that will allow you to walk and carry your clubs. Try it the next time you golf and you could spend more than three quarters of your game in a moderate-intensity exercise zone. No matter what you decide to do just remember to make it fun.
