Juicing for Health

Make a positive change for your health and start juicing! How would you like to make a very positive change for your health?  Start juicing.  And in order to do that you will first need to buy a juicer.  There are many juicers on the market that will work to make fresh juice for you to consume.  But the juicers that work the best are masticating juicers.  The juice made with a masticating juicer maintains the nutrients longer than other juicers.  But don’t get hung up on this, just buy the juicer you can afford and make juice every day.  You will find a new level of health when you begin to do this.

This link takes you to all kinds of juicers at amazon.com.  http://ow.ly/cKD9Y  I have an omega juicer and really like it.  It is quiet and easy to clean.

Adding juice to your diet has a number of benefits.  According to Dr. Mercola at mercola.com the three main benefits of juicing are:

  1. Juicing helps you absorb all the nutrients from the vegetables. This is important because most of us have impaired digestion as a result of making less-than-optimal food choices over many years. This limits your body’s ability to absorb all the nutrients from the vegetables. Juicing will help to “pre-digest” them for you, so you will receive most of the nutrition, rather than having it go down the toilet.
  2. Juicing allows you to consume an optimal amount of vegetables in an efficient manner. If you are a carb type, you should eat one pound of raw vegetables per 50 pounds of body weight per day. Some people may find eating that many vegetables difficult, but it can be easily accomplished with a quick glass of vegetable juice.
  3. You can add a wider variety of vegetables in your diet. Many people eat the same vegetable salads every day. This violates the principle of regular food rotation and increases your chance of developing an allergy to a certain food. But with juicing, you can juice a wide variety of vegetables that you may not normally enjoy eating whole.

Recently the American Cancer Society began a campaign telling us to just simply eat more fruits and vegetables.  Juicing is a great way to increase the number of fruits and vegetables you consume daily!

The next question is what to juice.  It is easy to find many juicing recipes on the internet.  So check out recipes there.  It is best if most of your juice is made up of vegetables since fruit has a lot of sugar.  My morning juice is cucumber, celery, kale, and parsley, this is so refreshing.  Enjoy.
