Benefits of Eating Raw Food

Could you use two more hours in your day? Would you like to enhance your immune system? Would you like to lose a few pounds? Would you like to improve the appearance of your skin? Would you like to feel good ALL the time? What would you do with more energy?

These are all reasons to switch to a mostly raw food diet.  If you are still unsure; let me tell you that it also easy, inexpensive, improves your digestion and reduces your risk of many diseases!

The quality of raw foods, satisfy your nutritional needs in ways that cooked foods cannot. Heat destroys enzymes – which benefit digestion – without these enzymes your food is difficult to digest causing you a loss of energy.  Raw foods have more flavor, raw meals take little preparation, and cleaning up is a snap with no baked on gunk.  Besides being environmentally sound; eating raw saves you money on vitamins, pots and pans, appliances, doctor bills, and drugs.

With all of these benefits how could you not go RAW?

When I received my diagnosis of chronic lymphocyte leukemia or CLL I immediately began doing research on natural cures for cancer.  The first thing I discovered was a need to go vegetarian.  So I did, however after the next blood test nothing had changed so I continued to seek answers.  That is when I met Jim Miller and learned his story.  Jim had Lymphoma and was scheduled for a bone marrow transplant when he decided to follow a more natural path.  He went to the Hippocrates Institute in South Florida to learn how to take care of this cancer.  And today he is cancer free.  Jim gave me an outline of the changes he had made in his life to beat this cancer and raw food was at the top of the list!.  So I made the decision to change to eating mostly raw.

Many people have questions on exactly what is a raw food diet. What can you eat? How is food prepared? Are special appliances needed?

Keep a lookout, I will answer these questions soon in a future post.

Jean Sumner has pursued an interest in wellness her entire life. An avid runner, she is passionate about exercise, eating healthy and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.Jean was diagnosed with cancer in May, 2009 this only served to fuel the flames of her passions and encouraged her to learn more about wellness. This diagnosis actually led to the beginning of World Wellness Education with a mission of “Teaching the world about wellness — one story at a time.”

As Jean pursued alternative methods of treating cancer she met countless individuals who had great stories to tell regarding how nutrition, spirituality and exercise helped them to overcome their various illnesses.  Since these stories were moving, motivating and timely she thought that each of these stories may make a difference in others lives.  With the knowledge that we learn from stories more quickly than other teaching methods an organization was born in hopes to make a difference in the well being of every individual on the planet.

  1. What a great article! Thanks to the one that wrote it. I luv these principles since they compliment the Isagenix nutritional cleansing program. By flooding your body with all the all natural (and much organic) nutrients in Isagenix and eating raw … your health should reach new heights.
