Bioflavonoids are compounds in food which have a strong antioxidant property and are full of phytonutrients. They give food some of their color. Bioflavonoids also help to prevent heart disease, hardening of the arteries, liver disease and cancer. They also act as a powerful antioxidant which eradicates free radicals.

Another property of bioflavonoids is that they boost your immunity.

You can find bioflavonoids in bright colored foods in a natural diet. Examples of foods that are high in bioflavonoids include onions, kale, green beans, broccoli, endive, celery, cranberries, citrus fruit’s peel and white pulp, lettuce, sweet red peppers, broad beans, strawberries, apples with the skin, rapes and grape juice.

Have you ever heard that is important to eat the colors of the rainbow? Makes more sense now doesn’t it!
