Improve your health, learn to sprout!

Growing sprouts is simple yet you'll gain much nutrition.Sprouts are nutritional powerhouses.  The sprouted seed contains all of the energy, vitamins and nutrients that enable the small seed to be transformed into a strong plant.  For example a sprouted lettuce seed can contain 400% more protein than the fully grown lettuce leaf.  When sprouts are used as part of the diet they can retard the aging process because they contain male and female hormones in their most available form.  And on top of their nutritional value the seeds are low in cost, can be stored indefinitely and are easy to grow.

Sprout People give this nutritional information for sprouts:

“Nutritional info: Vitamins A, B, C, D, E and K

Calcium, Carbohydrates, Chlorophyll, Iron, Magnesium, Niacin, Pantothenic Acid, Phosphorus, Potassium, Zinc

All Amino Acids

Trace Elements

Protein: up to 35%”

Sprouts are also an alkalizing food.  It is important to keep our bodies alkaline if we want to be healthy.  The standard American diet, also known as the “sad” diet, is mostly acidic; which is the cause of many diseases.

Sprouts can be added to soups, salads, smoothies, fresh juices and many other dishes.  Because sprouts are so tiny, you can add the equivalent of hundreds of fully grown plants to your meal.  This amount of nutrition is certainly going to make a difference to your health.

Because sprouts are a living growing food they will continue to maintain or even improve their nutritional value until they are consumed.  Compare this to items purchased at the grocery store that have been harvested days ago and lose nutritional value each day.  By growing and consuming sprouts you can give your body a special boost.

You can sprout a variety of seeds to add to your meals.  Typical sprouting seeds include alfalfa, broccoli, radish, and mung beans.

Jean Sumner has pursued an interest in wellness her entire life. An avid runner, she is passionate about exercise, eating healthy and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.Jean was diagnosed with cancer in May, 2009 this only served to fuel the flames of her passions and encouraged her to learn more about wellness. This diagnosis actually led to the beginning of World Wellness Education with a mission of “Teaching the world about wellness — one story at a time.”

As Jean pursued alternative methods of treating cancer she met countless individuals who had great stories to tell regarding how nutrition, spirituality and exercise helped them to overcome their various illnesses. Since these stories were moving, motivating and timely she thought that each of these stories may make a difference in others lives. With the knowledge that we learn from stories more quickly than other teaching methods an organization was born in hopes to make a difference in the well being of every individual on the planet.

Jean has recently completed a book titled “52 Tips to be Healthy.”  This book contains 52 small weekly changes a person could make to be much healthier by the end of a year.  Proceeds for this book go to World Wellness Education.  The book can be purchased at- http://www.worldwellnesseducation.biz/52-Tips-to-Be-Healthy.html
